Why Take Obedience Classes?

Obedience classes are a great way to socialize with other “dog people,” but more importantly, a way to socialize your dog. Its lots of fun for both of you. Your dog gets to be in the company of other dogs, see new sites, smell new smells, hear new sounds, and be the center of your world for a full hour. Training is also a tremendous bonding experience between you and your dog, which is so important for a successful relationship. Plus, dogs love to learn!

Again, socialization is so IMPORTANT and should start as early as possible in order to have a well-behaved and well-balanced dog. Even if you don’t do formal obedience classes, just get your dog out there around as many different animals, people, and stimuli as possible. And don’t forget to include plenty of daily exercise, exercise, exercise.

In My Class

You will receive plenty of individual attention, which is the reason for keeping class size small.
We will discuss and demonstrate how to properly use training equipment.
We will use praise and positive reinforcement (and maybe a few treats!) to reinforce proper behavior.
You will learn the basic obedience commands: Sit, Stay, Heel, Come, Lie Down, and Attention.
And, we will keep it fun by spending some time playing games and having "doggie socialization" breaks.

Guarantees

The only guarantee is that in my class, you and your dog will learn something, and will have fun doing it! If you follow through and practice with the tools you are given, you should have a happy and obedient dog in no time. Remember, you will not achieve success without CONSISTENCY. Your dog needs you to be the leader 24/7, which is your job and part of your commitment as a dog guardian.
